Kate McNenly
For the past few decades
I have worked as a graphic designer. Last
year as a “free bird” I took my favorite parts of graphic design and combined
them with acrylics, watercolor and printmaking, put them all into my head and
tried to shake out a style. Oddly enough this venture into art has been
overflowing a very real studio wastebasket with more fumbles, bad starts,
mistakes, jittery drips and crashed concepts than I ever saw in the wastebasket
icon on my design firm computer.
After two years spent
trying to “loosen up” my work, I’ve decided to simply embrace the internal
graphic designer and enjoy the colorful ride.
